I am starting a new initiative:
Every Friday I will post 5 questions regarding your "Favorite ...[fill in the blank]". The topics will range from kids' related matters, to pamper-yourself ideas, to food to household items and everything in between.
Leave your answers in the Comments section and I will compile them and write a follow up post with answers to the questions for the following week's Friday Faves. I look forward to hearing from you, getting to know you and sharing ideas.
For this week, tell me about your Favorite:
1. ... kids' summer snack/treat
2. ... tantrum soother
3. ... activity if you have 2 hours for yourself
4. ... facial scrub (include price and where to buy it)

Thanks so much for the thoughtful comment you left on my blog re: my returning to work.
As for your new Friday idea - very fun! Here's my best shot at answering:
1. At nine months mine is still too young for this one - I did let her lick my popcicle a few weeks ago though - that seemed to be a winner. She got this "Mom, you've totally been holding out on me!" look in her eyes as she lunged towards it for another lick.
2. Tantrum soother: There is this "Lalala" song I learnt at a playgroup. It's gold. I blogged about it a few weeks ago here: http://mommycrat.blogspot.com/2010/06/baby-apoplectic.html
3. Alone time activity: Currently blogging - but depends on mood. Mindless TV or good book work too. All three are better with a glass of wine (but not too many with blogging - that could get messy).
4. Facial scrub: Don't currently have one. So I'll take pointers from others.
5. Staying-in date night: Meal cooked together with a good bottle (or two) of wine and some good conversation/just reconnecting and not talking about baby.
Happy Friday! Like the new theme, we may all get some great ideas.
Let's see:
1) Fav snack: popsicle
2) hugs and paci (can't get rid of that darned paci)
3) Blog or cocktail with a friend - and a little shopping.
4) Neutrogena - their new stuff is revolutionary
5) Great dinner, wine followed by a dip in the pool.
Have a great weekend!
HRH, the advanced solutions by Neutrogena. It's helped my skin more than words can express.
BTW, CONGRATULATIONS on reaching 100 followers. Feels good, doesn't it!
Great idea! My children are a bit older; 6 and 10 so my answers are geared toward that age.
1)Del Monte Chillers and of course popcorn
2)grit through my teeth they better get a grip and take a deep breath
3)Blog, nap, stare into space
4)Hmmm. Don't really have one but love Arbonne products
5)Grill out, cocktails, good comedy movie
Happy Weekend!
1. Dora Popsicles
2. Dora Popsicles
3. Quality time with my laptop
4. Equate brand salysillic acid scrubby bead things from Wal-mart (also my only facial scrub)
5. The activities of our stay-in date nights are not fit for publication.
I like your Friday favorite initiative!
This is a great idea! My favorites would be:
1.) watermelon or popsicles
2.)reading abook and a hug
3.)cleaning or computer time
4.) hmmmm not sure
5.) popcorn and movie
Have a great night!
Mama Hen
1) Edys Popcicles
2)Encourage them that they can get get themselves together. "Take a deep breath and tell me what you need in a big biy/girl voice so I can understand." If it is a tantrum because they can't get what they want - I remind them that my room is a tantrum/bad attitude free zone. If they want to cry they need to go into thier room.
3)Read/Write/Sleep/Shop (for anything - CVS or the Supermarket is a treat)
4)Sugar or corn meal! When I purchase it ST. Ives Apricot Scrub for less that 4 bucks at any drugstore.
5)Nookie - or sleeping. Both if we are lucky!
TRYING THIS AGAIN:
1) Freezie Popsicles in red
2) Choc chip cookies-any season.
3) Reading.
4) Sugar with lemon juice. Better than anything you can buy.
5)Red wine, dark chocolate, no kids.
arg! sorry it took me a while to get here... haven't been keeping up with the commenting very well lately. spending too much time in blogfrog i think. ;) ok, here goes...
1. apples and peanut butter (though not for my kid yet;)
2. change of scenery - usually a walk outside around the yard!
3. shopping or going out to a cafe alone for a nice coffee and some book-reading
4. never done this but would like to!
5. i used to say dinner and a movie, but that's gotten so standard so i'll now say dinner and a game (cards, board game, etc.)
fun! :D
